Labyrinth

Created July 2000 for Labyrinth contest at 3dluvr.com . Won 19th place internationally. Later appeared in 3D World Magazine (Issue 29, p.91). Built using AutoCAD, 3DS Max, Terragen, and Photoshop.

 

 

Still Life

Still life created February 2002 for Lighting and Rendering class while at school at IUPUI. Created using AutoCAD, Rhino, 3DS Max, Terragen and Photoshop. Cloth simulation done using Havok. HDR IBL (Image Based Lighting) used to create object lighting.

TG-Max Demo Shot

Will demonstrate how to do live action footage, tracked to align with 3DS Max and Terragen CG elements.

 

 

Mountain Flyby

Created November 2001 using early version of TG-Max. Demonstrates use of camera banking. Script animation path created in 3DS Max and rendered in Terragen.

Rich Hardesty CD Intro

Animation done Spring 2002 while working with TB Digital. Includes several elements such as approximately 50 animated characters and original set design. Camera movement was rigged to physically correct camera crane and dolly track. Lighting was done using HDR IBL (Image Based Lighting). Designed and built using AutoCAD and 3DS Max. Rendered using 3DS Max and Terragen. Composited using Premiere and AfterFX.

Early beach shot test (created for CD Intro) which demonstrates how 3DS Max elements will align to Terragen background.

Rich Hardesty Crane Shot

Crane shot was done for music video "Curious" (summer 2002) while working with TB Digital. Rich was shot on blue screen and then applied to 3D geometry in 3DS Max as 2.5D element. Set reused from CD intro beach shot. Crane element is again using physically correct camera crane and dolly track. Additional camera shake simulated using Havok. Lighting is using HDR IBL (Image Based Lighting). Demonstrates use of TG-Max feature animated sunlight for sun setting. Animated water and bird flock done using 3DS Max. Composited using Premiere and AfterFX.
